Meditations on "Recovery"

Every day of our lives, and especially when we come into recovery, we need the healing power of God to bring us to new life.

Most of Jesus’ friends abandoned Him before He died on the cross.

Jesus is risen from the dead! Because He lives, we also shall live.

Rudeness shows itself in our speech and actions towards others.

How many of us begin a job and see it through to completion?

Many of us know from personal experience, and from what we have seen and heard from others, that the consequences of a lifestyle of drug or alcohol misuse can be devastating.

When we see those with evil plans prosper, we often wonder why God would allow them to do so.

The Bible is a wonderful source of support for us and contains many stories about the compassion Jesus showed to those He encountered.

Part of being human is experiencing some wounding.

We hope for all sorts of things. When we struggle with life, we hope we can make it through one more day.

Our anticipation of future events is positive when we expect something good is about to happen, such as going out to see a show, taking a holiday trip, or doing something else we really like to do.

Why do we continue to do things our own way when it obviously isn’t working?
