Meditations on "Truth"

In the Bible we read the story of how God took care of a poor widow who was running out of food (1 Kings 17).

How many times have we written people off because of some dispute in the distant past?

Jesus had many friends. Three of his dearest friends were Mary, Martha, and Lazarus who lived in a small town outside Jerusalem called Bethany.

Our parents or caregivers are deeply connected to our lives on so many levels.

How do we enter into this friendship relationship with God that makes life safe and satisfying and guarantees us life, beyond the grave, in heaven?

Friends trust and rely on each other. They may not always agree but will respect one another's differences.

Sometimes the people whom Jesus spoke to did not comprehend what he was saying even though he used everyday illustrations to help them understand who He was and where He came from.

After his final encounter with the Pharisees the man who had received his sight was thrown out of the synagogue for testifying about Jesus and questioning the Jewish leaders about their judgment of Him.

Jesus healed a blind man and one would assume that he, his parents and friends must have greatly rejoiced that he received his sight.

God’s kingdom has nothing to do with eating or drinking.

For a few days we've been looking at some of the claims of Jesus Christ -- that He was the Son of God, lived a sinless life, would die and rise again, and would go back to heaven to be with His Father.
