Meditations on "Truth"

The people refused to enter the pleasant land, for they wouldn’t believe his promise to care for them.

Daily living presents plenty of challenges that we must face.

There is a life of keeping dark secrets that God calls us away from.

Sometimes, when it suits our agenda, we make excuses for not telling the truth.

We have lived so long in darkness and been deceived by the devil, our culture, and our own thinking that there are many things that appear to us to be light that are actually darkness.

For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made us understand that this light is the brightness of the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.

In recent weeks we have heard of several decisions from the Supreme Courts of both Canada and the United States which will have an impact on the way life is shaped in each country.

"Sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me" .

For the past couple of days we've been thinking about guilt - why we feel guilty and what we should do about it.

Part of the sickness we can observe in our culture is the need to be good, or to seem innocent where guilt should be admitted.

As we grow in life, understanding what it means to be good and do good gets more and more complicated and vague.

What are we doing from day to day, even moment to moment, to train ourselves to hear and respond to the voice of God?
