Meditations on "Truth"

Jesus told the story of two men who went to church to pray.

At some point in our lives we became aware that we were powerless over our dependencies and that our lives had become unmanageable.

Contentment in life does not come from trying to control someone so they will meet our needs, or by trying to please someone so they will like us and make us feel secure.

To experience success in our life with God in recovery we must make a commitment to be thorough in our search for truth and how we apply this learned truth in our thoughts and behaviours.

Many of us face a new year wondering about the unknown.

As we consider our future, we need to take time to reflect on where we have been and where we want to go from here.

The coming of Jesus to our world to reconcile us to our Heavenly Father is a powerful witness to the truth that our seemingly ordinary lives matter to God.

Christmas lights brighten the dark evenings of December and are a reminder to us that no matter how dark this season may be, the coming of Jesus into the world brought light and hope and joy.

The Christmas story reminds us that we don't have to clean up our lives before we make room for Jesus to enter our hearts.

Gossip shows up in our lives in many forms. God hates them all because He knows how harmful destructive words are to our dignity and our relationships.

We all know that staying sober starts with not picking up a drink or our drug of choice or returning to whatever our destructive habit was.

Our weaknesses are no surprise to God. God strengthens us in areas where we have grown and encourages us in the areas where we still need to grow.
