While in addiction we often considered life, even our own, as pretty cheap.

When we turned our will and life over to the care of God, we started a life journey to live sober.

A lot of us would admit that we acted immaturely in our former relationships, and that we used and abused others so that we could get what we wanted when we wanted it.

Moving forward in identifying character defects and allowing God to help us develop our true character is no easy process.

What does it mean to humbly ask God to remove our shortcomings?

As we go forward in recovery we have come to realize that we are accountable for our actions, for the behaviour that has impacted our relationships, and for the problems we created while in bondage to our addiction.

A sincere person is one who is honest, who doesn’t create false impressions, and who doesn’t operate with selfish motives.

Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord from the heavens.

Just for today I will be joyful, optimistic, and grateful.

God invites us to a life of gentleness where we honour truth, respect the dignity of everyone – including ourselves, and delight in the joy and wonder of each new day.

To succeed in living well in recovery with God, we need to rely on His promises.
