Meditations on "Wisdom"

As we noted yesterday, when we acknowledge that we have value in the sight of God and base our worth and identity on this, rather than on the opinions of others, we will begin to experience peace, freedom, and security.

May my cry come before you, Lord; give me understanding according to your word.

In every area of our lives it is God's desire that we plan a good course.

When life is overwhelming, we often turn to addictive habits to help us hide from our negative emotions.

God, our creator, loves us with unconditional love and offers us friendship on a personal basis.

On our own, our circumstances are overwhelming. Our desires are bent towards self-centeredness and we act in ways that harm people around us.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

When we eventually come to that place where we live in peace with others around us, we may still encounter a person who is hostile.

God's promise to us is that everyone who seeks healing and freedom will find it.

When we give attention to our flawed reasoning and ignore the guidance of God, we very quickly start to fear and flee into self-protection mode.

When we reached the bottom in our addiction we knew we needed help to get ourselves out of our tangled brokenness.

Our pride often keeps us from asking to have our needs met.
