Meditations on "Wisdom"

To live with wisdom in recovery requires humility.

When the first humans disobeyed God, they alienated themselves from God and were no longer complete as God intended.

Becoming strong and steady in our recovery requires that we keep on listening and learning from God's Word and from the experience, strength, and hope of others.

At most recovery meetings there are lots of handshakes and hugs and "chips" or "fobs" to honour clean time.

God designed humans with a natural desire to pursue pleasure.

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.

God is willing, and more than able, to remove all our defects of character if we humbly ask Him.

Our pride often keeps us from asking for what we need.

Some of us slid into destructive and addictive lifestyles out of a desire to have friends and companions that made us feel like we belong.

God has a plan for my life that is meaningful, purposeful and joyful.

A healthy foundation for life with God in recovery includes seeking truth in all our affairs.

There are seasons in each of our lives which are fruitful and others which are not.
