Meditations on "Humility"

Step Seven: We humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.

Step Six: We were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.

My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge.

To go forward in recovery we must find new direction for our lives, new ways of responding to issues, and new guidelines for making decisions.

Life is more than just about us. God wants us to be like Him with all the wonderful character qualities that give life and hope to the world around us.

Too often, a person’s initial response to displeasure or stress is to strike out violently against the source of their frustration.

As we learned yesterday, we begin the process of changing our selfish self-centered way of living by first turning our will and our lives over to God.

As we noted yesterday, from Adam and Eve all through the generations to the generation alive today, people have lived in an environment where good and evil are mixed.

In view of what the Bible teaches, we are vulnerable to attacks from the devil and we need to prepare for them.

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.

When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour we became new creations and yesterday we read about the initial process of becoming useful for the Master’s service.

Humility asks God for help when we are confused or unable to handle the events of our lives.
