When we wandered in addiction we tried to be loyal to our families but gave priority to our drug of choice.

A person with a victim mentality has learned to focus on suffering while trying to avoid more at any cost.

The victim mentality is quite widespread in our society and particularly in the world of addiction and recovery.

We have all sorts of reasons why we think we can’t change.

As long as we are trapped in a destructive lifestyle of addiction we are unable to sustain healthy friendships.

Some of us slid into destructive and addictive lifestyles out of a desire to belong and have friends.

When we turn our will and our life over to the care of God we are surrendering ourselves to the work of God in our lives.

Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.

God’s purpose in creating humans in His likeness was that they would be in relationship with Him and reflect His image on the earth.

God wants us to be successful in recovery and in life.

If we obsess on negative words that others have said it affects us and may contribute to relapse.

On a regular basis, when you climb into bed at night do you sleep soundly, or do you count sheep?
