Meditations on "Recovery"

May your unfailing love come to me, Lord, your salvation, according to your promise; then I can answer anyone who taunts me, for I trust in your word.

In the Bible we read about a man named Gideon. He was discouraged and had little self-respect.

We’ve relapsed. Now what? We may beat ourselves up over what we have done and become fearful of owning up to our bad choice.

Some days are tough! When our plans fall apart, whether our own fault or not, we feel alone and challenged.

So don’t be misled, my dear brothers and sisters.

When our life in recovery is shared with God, we will consciously have a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Righteousness guards the person of integrity, but wickedness overthrows the sinner.

25 I lie in the dust; revive me by your word. 26 I told you my plans, and you answered.

Often the barrier to our letting go of grudges is our unwillingness to grace others as we have been graced by God.

One of the greatest obstacles to receiving and living in God’s absolute forgiveness is that we haven’t truly repented.

17 Be good to your servant, that I may live and obey your word.

Many of us have made a move towards God in recovery only to struggle and relapse.
