Meditations on "Recovery"

When we give our will and life over to the care of God, we are demonstrating our trust in God to provide for our needs.

Recovery begins when we come to our senses and affirm that we are powerless over alcohol or some other substance or habit and that our lives have become unmanageable.

God created us in love and desires that we love Him with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our strength, and with all our mind, and that we love our neighbour as ourselves.

In just a few hours the new calendar year will be upon us.

Troubles come, sometimes one on top of another. Pressure builds.

We are strengthened to stay free of addiction because God is guiding and supporting us each step of the way.

How long would we be willing to wait for God to complete and show us the fulfillment of His plans?

Christmas is often a lonely time for some of us. We see others gathering and enjoying festivities that we, for many reasons, cannot be a part of.

…The Lord himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child!

When we give our life over to the care of God, we often think that things will go smoothly from that point onwards.

Prayer to our gracious God and daily meditation on His word are positive practices that will form the foundation for the rebuilding of our lives.

Your kingdom will never end, and you will rule forever.
