Meditations on "Relationship"

When making an inventory of our lives before God, some basic questions to ask are: "God what does my life look like to you?

We live in a beautiful world created by God. Because God desired a people for Himself, He made humans in His own image.

Some of us in recovery circles know what it is like to live in plenty and others of us have experienced what it is like to live in poverty.

Often people who have no relationship with God will pray when they are in trouble or when they urgently need help in a time of great distress.

We all need hope. Today we are affirming the hope within us that what has been impossible for us to do on our own becomes possible when we reach out for help to a power greater than ourselves.

An important part of recovery is coming to a truthful view of what happened in our relationships.

In our addiction, many of us had our character shaped through isolation and getting our own way in whatever way we could.

After all the hype and preparation for Christmas, especially during this very strange year of the COVID-19 pandemic, we return now to ordinary days.

In many places in the Bible we read that God’s love endures forever.

What came first the chicken or the egg? When we called out to God in our powerlessness, did we suddenly show up on His “locating system” or was He already waiting for us to call and available to help us?

D Addiction is a disease of isolation. That’s not news to those of us who have spent time there.

Who would have thought that the way we are living in our relationships, taking responsibility for our actions, and doing the work that is required of us each day, would attract others to think about getting what we have?
