Meditations on "Surrender"

What comes to mind when we say or hear the word "serenity"?

We came into recovery because we knew life wasn’t working.

Every week, or every other week, people put out trash cans and recycling bins so they are ready for the scheduled collections in their community.

Moving forward in identifying character defects and allowing God to help us develop our true character is no easy process.

Only after a time of living in recovery with God do we realize how ridiculous we must have sounded when “we told God our plans.

Some people who have no relationship with God will pray when they are in trouble or when they really need help in a time of great distress.

To be “relapse proof” we must be fully surrendered to a life that prioritizes God’s will in all we think, say, and do.

Happy New Year! The start of a new year is when many people have a desire to change their lifestyle.

To enjoy a healthy and satisfying life in recovery we need to recognize our need for growth in areas of our character which have been compromised.

Turning our will and life over to the care of God as we understand Him is just the beginning of our new life with God in recovery.

In the past, one of the lies we bought into was that the party life was where the greatest enjoyment of living could be found.
