Meditations on "Surrender"

In the past, one of the lies we bought into was that the party life was where the greatest enjoyment of life was to be found.

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.

God is willing, and more than able, to remove all our defects of character if we humbly ask Him.

Our pride often keeps us from asking for what we need.

Some of us slid into destructive and addictive lifestyles out of a desire to have friends and companions that made us feel like we belong.

Many people who come into recovery seeking victory over drugs and alcohol find themselves relapsing into addictive lifestyles when they refuse to obey God’s teaching on sexual purity.

Just for today I will be unafraid, believing that as I trust in God with all my heart and lean not on my own understanding, He will lead me along a good path.

Everyone faces unwanted hardships and trouble. Some hardship comes because we act in ways that are unwise and end up in circumstances we did not anticipate.

Many of us have questioned God about the purpose for our existence and the reason why certain things have happened to us.

When we pray the full version of the Serenity Prayer, what are we asking God to do for us?

We realized that our life was unmanageable, and we got to where we are at by our own irrational thinking and flawed solutions to life situations.
