Meditations on "Truth"

When we become unsettled in our recovery we often find that we begin to entertain risky thoughts that make us vulnerable to relapse.

We often feel awkward about bringing our recurring sins before God.

I belong; I have worth; I am adequate and/or competent.

We often bring our “street smart” thinking into recovery with us.

We are spiritual beings who have a soul and live in a body.

In our addictive lifestyle we made poor choices and walked paths that caused harm to ourselves and to others.

We experience true freedom when we have a clean slate with God.

“Principles before personalities” is one of those sayings we hear at Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.

Our former lifestyle of destructive life habits and addiction was harsh and filled with problems.

As we become willing to have God remove our defects of character, we commit to being persons who desire God’s will instead of our own.

Just for today I will strengthen my mind. I will take a few minutes to read and meditate on God’s word, seeking God’s perspective for my life today.

We are just moving into summer and hopefully looking forward to long hours and days in the sunshine.
