Meditations on "Truth"

As we seek to restore a clear conscience before God we need to examine the truthfulness of our society’s values.

Those of us who live for the approval of others trying hard to be perfect, are not led but driven.

When we lived in the chaos of our addictive lifestyle we were ruled by the obsession for our drug of choice or our dependency of the day.

For some of us being alone and in control of our own lives makes us feel safe.

Your laws are wonderful. No wonder I obey them! The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand.

Life on God’s terms is simply that – life on God’s terms.

A remarkable change takes place in our thinking and our desires when we turn our will and our life over to the care of God.

When we wandered in addiction we tried to be loyal to our families but gave priority to our drug of choice.

As long as we are trapped in a destructive lifestyle of addiction we are unable to sustain healthy friendships.

When we turn our will and our life over to the care of God we are surrendering ourselves to the work of God in our lives.

God wants us to be successful in recovery and in life.

If we obsess on negative words that others have said it affects us and may contribute to relapse.
