Denial is described as a refusal to admit the truth or reality of a situation. Denial of our dependency on a substance and/or a person, is the first obstacle we must overcome in recovery.

Being a “dry drunk” is a term used to describe a person whose actions and attitude are pretty much the same as when they were drinking. Jesus wants to heal us and set us free from living as a dry drunk.

To avoid confrontations that we are partly responsible for, fight or flight may seem like the only options. There is a better response.

What we have to say truly matters because God’s wisdom is precious and uplifting to those who are still in bondage to their old way of thinking and unmanageable lifestyle.

We serve others as an expression of our love and gratitude to God. When our hearts are uplifted by God’s goodness, we seek to bless others as we have been blessed. The focus of our service is simply our loving response to God’s work in our lives.

What an amazing God we serve who sees us in our brokenness and is ready and willing to help us if we will just turn to him, repent of our wrongs, and sincerely give Him control of our lives.

God invites us to stop running, acknowledge the pain and brokenness in our past relationships, and deal with the harm that was caused.

The desire to express our love for God and our neighbour should be the motivation behind what we do each day and how we work through our agenda.

God accepts us as we are and invites us to rely on His strength to help us live life successfully.

When we choose to apply the simple principle, “I can’t. God can. I think I’ll let Him” we’ll experience a new and satisfying life – life with God in recovery.

From time to time we all have anxious feelings but we can choose to make our feelings line up with our decisions.

God broke through with His unfailing love. God never gave up on us even when we refused to obey Him or even acknowledge that He existed.
