Meditations on "Wisdom"

To live with wisdom in recovery requires humility. We need to acknowledge, “I don’t really know what is best for me but I’m willing to try new ways and learn from the experience of others.

When we are faced with a recurring problem we often just want it to go away so we can be done with it.

As we seek to live in recovery and face life’s troubles and challenges, it's easy to become discouraged and feel sorry for ourselves when things appear not to be fair.

When we turned our will and life over to God many of us had hope for a quick turnaround in our lives.

How many of us are confident in our decision making?

Many of us have been in the company of others who think they know everything but when they open their mouths not much wisdom comes out.

When we wake up each morning, are our first thoughts about a desire to praise God for His grace and goodness to us or, are they focused on our problems and things that need to be done?

"Live and let live" is one of those slogans that encourage us to consider if our desire for control is becoming an issue we need to deal with.

Each person has many decisions to make each day. At any given time we may find ourselves at that place where two roads meet and wonder which road we should take.

"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Someone has rightly said, "If you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem.

God is always with me. I need never face my problems alone.
