Meditations on "Wisdom"

In sharing our recovery journey at meetings, we often look to the model of "what life was like in addiction, what happened, and what does life look like now.

Good eyesight is a great gift. With our eyes we see and admire the beauty that God has put in our natural environment.

One sure sign of growth in our life with God in recovery is making time to serve others and being willing to adjust our schedule or priorities when someone comes to us with a need.

Whether it’s a commitment we make to ourselves, to others, or to God, keeping with it until it's completed is tough for most addicts.

Who wants trouble? None of us do and if we listen to God’s counsel there is a lot of trouble that we can avoid.

Early, if not the first on the list of qualities we need to build in our new life with God in recovery, is optimism grounded in faith – faith that trusts in God, learns from God, and builds on the promises that God gives in the Bible.

It's easy for us to become discouraged and feel sorry for ourselves when life doesn’t go the way we think it should.

God is always with me. I need never face my problems alone.

One of the Twelve Promises of AA tells us: We will comprehend the word serenity, and we will know peace.

When we look at people who appear to have it all together, we envy them, especially when our life is not harmonious or as settled as we would like it to be.

Years of aimless living in addiction kept us from becoming focused, well-organized, and productive.

How many of us are confident in our decision making?
