Meditations on "Wisdom"

Our life with God in recovery should be one of continual learning and growing.   When our actions or attitudes conflict with God’s principles we need to realign our ways with what God’s Word says, and we need to do it sooner rather than later. 

God has given gifts to everyone; no one has been left out.  The first step in developing confidence in using our gifts is to acknowledge that God is our creator and each one of us is individually gifted with the qualities God desires us to use.

Wise people are willling to listen to sound advice and learn. We can learn from their experience, strength, and hope because they have gained wisdom by listening to others and by following the principles for a successful life as recorded in the Bible.

When we were powerless over our addiction how many times did people try to help us see the truth about our problem?

People with discernment normally do the right thing in any situation that arises.

We live in a beautiful world created by God. Because God desired a people for Himself, He made humans in His own image.

Stories of intolerance and prejudice air regularly on the news networks.

Telling the truth presents many challenges for individuals seeking new life in recovery.

When we pray for God’s will and the power to carry it out, God just doesn’t point to something unfocused in the distance.

How many times have we spoken before we thought, and as the old truism says, “put our foot in our mouth?

God invites us to live in freedom. Freedom for us was so important to God that He was willing to give the life of His Son so that we could experience new life and peace.

To the person who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God.
