Recovery Meditations

The seasons are changing. A few days ago we officially moved from summer to autumn.

O God, insolent people rise up against me; a violent gang is trying to kill me.

How many times have we written people off because of some dispute we had in the distant past?

Recycling seems to be the way to achieve new life for things that are used, worn out or just not wanted any more.

Life in recovery can be challenging at times. We have joy in the fact that we are no longer in the pit of our addiction, but, we are now treading waters that are unfamiliar to us.

Trusting Jesus and following His lead is the only key to successful recovery.

We have come into recovery because we are seeking to find what will give us a successful life.

We hold keys to all sorts of things. Losing keys raises all sorts of problems when we misplace them.

For you are great and perform wonderful deeds. You alone are God.

Relationships matter. Jesus taught us that a loving relationship with God and with others is the foundation of our new life in recovery and as Christians.

Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control.

When we lived in the chaos of our addictive lifestyle we were ruled by the obsession or dependency of the day.
