Meditations on "Recovery"

Integrity is one of the most valued character qualities a person can have.

Just for today I will try to live in conscious contact with God praying only for knowledge of His will and the power to carry it out.

Some of us say we have hope in God, but what does that mean?

Trouble shows up in our lives for many reasons. Some of it we bring on ourselves because of our poor choices and our self-willed behaviour.

Tomorrow night many children put on costumes and go door-to-door “trick-or-treating.

When we first come into recovery many of us are intimidated by the thought of speaking to God in prayer.

Some of the most welcome phrases in life and certainly in recovery circles are, "One day at a time" or "Just for today.

The Bible makes it clear that God detests lying. Most of the time we did not speak the truth.

"Live and let live" is one of those slogans that encourages us to consider if our desire for control is becoming an issue we need to deal with.

Often, when we come into recovery, we have no sense of why our life problems took us down the road of addiction.

Many of us got caught up in addiction because of our inability to deal with the pain and harm inflicted on us by those who did not treat us as they should have.

Rarely have we seen a person fail who has thoroughly followed our path .
