Meditations on "Truth"

Moving forward in identifying character defects and allowing God to help us develop our true character is no easy process.

A sincere person is one who is honest, who doesn’t create false impressions, and who doesn’t operate with selfish motives.

God invites us to a life of gentleness where we honour truth, respect the dignity of everyone – including ourselves, and delight in the joy and wonder of each new day.

When we pray for God’s will for us and the power to carry it out, God just doesn’t point to something unfocused in the distance.

In the Bible Jesus told a story about a father and two sons (Luke 15:11-31) The younger of the two boys became dissatisfied with life in his father’s household and believed life away from home was more desirable.

When we come into recovery one of our priorities must be sorting life according to what is true.

An owl makes us think of wisdom. We assume a person who reads a lot of books or has a few college degrees must have a lot of wisdom.

Many of us blame God because bad things happened to us when we were powerless to change the situation.

To live with wisdom in recovery requires humility.

Co-dependency is a relationship addiction. People who are co-dependent often form relationships that are one-sided, emotionally destructive, and often abusive.

Self-worth is the value we see in ourselves and our role in life.

Just for today I will take note of one helpful thing God is saying to me and seek to behave accordingly.
