Meditations on "Truth"

Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me.

Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb?

The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.

Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer or withdraw his unfailing love from me.

Many of us face a new year wondering about the unknown.

The coming of Jesus to our world to reconcile us to our Heavenly Father is a powerful witness to the truth that our seemingly commonplace lives really do matter For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

At this time of year, as we prepare our hearts for the celebration of Christ’s birth, some of us may have regrets about Christmases in our past.

We are living in the season of long dark nights. Fortunately the Christmas lights help to brighten the dark evenings.

What sorrow for those who get up early in the morning looking for a drink of alcohol and spend long evenings drinking wine to make themselves flaming drunk.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

….when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
