Meditations on "Truth"

Even though the days are officially getting shorter, the long summer evenings are still delightful and give us time to reflect on our amazing God who created all the wonderful things we're enjoying.

The problem for many of us is that as we begin to follow the way of God’s truth we start to encounter opposition in our minds.

Our experience in addiction has taught us that it’s easier and more convenient to lie rather than tell the truth.

Telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, seems almost impossible in today’s culture and yet this is the path God points us to as we seek a satisfying and stable life in recovery.

What makes life good? Today, how can we live with a sense of well-being, a heart that is light, and the security of knowing that our relationship with God is on track?

It's spring -- time for a good old-fashioned spring cleaning.

God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.

The Big Book of AA describes the significance of our problem with selfishness in this way: "There often seems no way of entirely getting rid of self without His [God's] aid.

As we noted yesterday, from Adam and Eve all through the generations to the generation alive today, people have lived in an environment where good and evil are mixed.

The third way we face vulnerability is in our longing for approval of others.

We look today at the second area where Jesus was tempted.

In view of what the Bible teaches, we are vulnerable to attacks from the devil and we need to prepare for them.
