Meditations on "Denial"

Our sponsor or a trusted friend may have spoken to us about how we were getting off track, but we refused to listen ... and found ourselves moving towards relapse.

As God is not limited by time, He is always available to those whose hearts are turned towards Him.

O Lord, what are human beings that you should notice them

The Bible tells us that we all have fallen short of God’s standard.

If we choose to remain filled with bitterness, we bind ourselves to our past.

If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. (1 John 1:8)

As we experience the unfailing love and care that God has for us, we can put our trust in His goodness and not fear anything.

How are we to deal with a person who falsely accuses us of something we did not do?

Neither could we reduce our self-centeredness much by wishing or trying on our own power.  We had to have God's help."  (Big Book pages 62-63)

In my distress I prayed to the Lord, and the Lord answered me and set me free. (Psalm 118:5 NLT)

Some of the most welcome words in life and in recovery circles are: "One day at a time" or "Just for today." 

Life in recovery is a journey of recognizing the self-centered ways we have lived, and then seeking God and mentors to teach us how to live considerately and kindly towards others.
