Meditations on "Recovery"

Life in recovery can be challenging at times. We have joy in the fact that we are no longer in the pit of our addiction, but, we are now treading waters that are unfamiliar to us.

Trusting Jesus and following His lead is the only key to successful recovery.

We have come into recovery because we are seeking to find what will give us a successful life.

For you are great and perform wonderful deeds. You alone are God.

Relationships matter. Jesus taught us that a loving relationship with God and with others is the foundation of our new life in recovery and as Christians.

Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control.

When we lived in the chaos of our addictive lifestyle we were ruled by the obsession or dependency of the day.

When we commence the recovery process we are often lacking the courage to do even the routine daily things that need to be attended to.

When we began our recovery program, some of us had already been praying for help from a God we did not know.

Water is a very simple substance. It is colorless, odorless, and without taste, and yet no living thing can survive without it.

If we hold something in our hand and let go of it, it will drop to the ground.

Is there really a God? Is there really a higher power to which turning over my life and my will actually gives me recovery and a life worth living?
