Meditations on "Recovery"

Who of us understands the reason we think and feel and react the way we do?

God created us to live forever, to be secure in His love, to live with curiosity and wonder, and to interact with other people and creation in ways that bless and bring joy to them.

In the past we may have experienced countless days of chaos in circumstances that were too much for us.

Both riches and honor come from You, and You reign over all.

God loves us and wants us to experience peace and joy in life.

As we experience life with God in recovery we need to consider the people we spend time with and the emotional impact they have on us.

Each day, as we seek Him, God gives us directives to help us walk in the light and overcome the darkness of sinful behaviour.

There is a form of life in the shadows that is negative and promotes “shady living”.

We often describe life in active addiction as darkness and life in recovery as light.

May my cry come before you, Lord; give me understanding according to your word.

The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.

It’s summertime. It seems no matter where we travel there are road repairs and construction.
