What does speaking honourably have to do with recovery?

Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.

There is a life in the shadows that is negative and promotes “shady living”.

They stumble because they do not obey God’s word, and so they meet the fate that was planned for them.

Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you.

Many people are negatively impacted by accusation and condemnation.

Life with God in recovery means that we bring all of our situations before God, particularly when we feel like running away.

In steps one, two and three, we admitted that we were powerless over our dependencies and our lives were unmanageable; we came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity and, we made a decision to turn our will and our life over to the care of God as we understood Him.

What do people in recovery do when they encounter dark and difficult times?

Sometimes, when it suits our agenda, we make excuses for not telling the truth.

We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments.

For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made us understand that this light is the brightness of the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.
