Meditations on "Surrender"

A saying we often hear in unpredictable circumstances and in recovery circles is "live one day at a time.

When we turned our will and life over to God many of us had hope for a quick turnaround in our lives.

What is the spiritual awakening we come to experience as we walk with God in recovery?

Every week, or every second week, people put out trash cans and recycling bins so they are ready for the scheduled collections in their community.

"Live and let live" is one of those slogans that encourage us to consider if our desire for control is becoming an issue we need to deal with.

It’s leap year so this is a day added to the calendar every four years to keep our clocks in line with the earth’s rotation around the sun.

We lost our way. That is an obvious fact. We fell into addictive and destructive lifestyles.

Life has its ups and downs and doesn’t always treat us fairly.

Embracing God's ways in recovery isn't always easy, but it's undeniably transformative.

Just for today I will adjust myself to what is and not try to adjust everything else to my desires.

Often people who have no relationship with God will pray when they are in trouble or when they urgently need help in a time of great distress.

Living in recovery and following the Twelve Steps is a spiritual journey.
